Bringing Teams Together to Deliver Results
Stacey Ackerman is an accomplished author, speaker, trainer and business woman.
She spent 15+ years of her career in marketing director and consulting roles in various industries including health care, retail and government. She went on to teach college courses in marketing, interactive media and customer service for Globe University. Ackerman also served as a project and program management consultant at several Fortune 500 companies, including US Bank and Mayo Clinic.
After realizing there is a better way to work, where teamwork is encouraged and bureaucracy is demolished, she became passionate about agile.
Her philosophy on agile is simple:
“You can’t implement Scrum or any other framework as a methodology – it’s not a plug and play system. First you must change the culture to one that empowers its people and treats them as their greatest assets.”
In 2014 she opened her own consultancy, Ackerman Consulting Services, where she has helped companies such as Thomson Reuters and Best Buy become more agile using the Scrum Framework.
Ackerman is a contributing writer to the Scrum Alliance, and has been a speaker for several marketing conferences, including the American Marketing Association.
She is an advocate for postpartum mental health, and has made several TV and radio appearances for her memoir, Supermom: A Postpartum Anxiety Survival Story.
Ackerman holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism, as master’s degree in Organizational Management. She is a Certified Scrum Manager and Certified Scrum Product Owner.
She lives in Lakeville, Minn., with her husband, Eirik, three kids and four cats.
